Staff Safer Recruitment

All SportsFusion staff are recruited and deployed through safer recruitment practices.

Enhanced DBS checks
Identity and right-to-work checks

Role-specific suitability assessments
Clear role expectations and conduct standards

Only staff who meet our safeguarding and professionalism criteria are permitted to deliver sessions.

Staff Training & Induction

Every SportsFusion staff member completes a structured induction before delivery.

This includes training on:

Professional boundaries and conduct
Behaviour management
Reporting procedures
Health and safety responsibilities
Equality, diversity and inclusion

Ongoing training and refreshers are provided to ensure standards remain high.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

SportsFusion has a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) responsible for:

Oversight of safeguarding practice
Managing concerns and disclosures
Liaising with schools, organisations and external agencies
Ensuring staff follow correct reporting procedures
Maintaining safeguarding records

All safeguarding concerns are taken seriously and acted upon promptly.

Reporting & Escalation Procedures

Clear reporting pathways are in place and communicated to all staff.

This ensures:

Concerns are recorded accurately
Issues are escalated appropriately
No concern is ignored or minimised
Schools and organisations are informed where required

Confidentiality is respected at all times, with information shared on a need-to-know basis.

Health & Safety & Risk Management

Health and safety are embedded into our delivery.

This includes:

Pre-session risk assessments
Venue suitability checks
Equipment safety checks
Clear emergency procedures
Staff awareness of medical and additional needs
Incident and accident reporting processes

Risk assessments are adapted to the environment, age group and activity.

Behaviour Management & Wellbeing
